Post Date:06/01/2017 5:00 AM

What would you do if you were Sandy City's Mayor?

During the negative presidential campaign, Mayor Dolan started the #FindTheGood campaign to show what politics should be about: Service! Our leaders, both now and in the future, must remember they serve the people, are building communities and have a responsibility to be a positive force for good.

The rules are simple:

Write a short essay (250 word limit) describing what you would do to make Sandy City better if you were Mayor. Some ideas include:

Why is your city great? What makes it special?

What would you do to improve your city if you were Mayor for a Day?

What specific community issues or concerns do you see in your neighborhood?

The most important rule is to use your creativity and have fun!

Submit your essay online at by June 15, 2017.

The contest is open to all students (K through high school), but only one essay is accepted per student.

A total of three grand prizes of $150 and “Mayor for a Day” will be awarded to one elementary student, one middle school student and one high school student, with runner-up prize baskets given for Honorable Mentions.
