Bradburn Brief: Fall 2019

Post Date:10/04/2019 7:30 AM

Dear Sandy Resident,

Fall in Sandy is a magical place. With the mountains changing colors and the air becoming crisper, this is a great time to take advantage of all the city has to offer. Activities like the Trunk or Treat at the Sandy Amphitheater on Oct. 25, fall youth sports, Sandy’s miles of local trails, and getting in those last few golf days at River Oaks Golf Course are all ways to enjoy the season.

A priority of my administration has been to enhance and broaden our events in order to foster a stronger sense of community and help build memories with your loved ones. I am proud of our Parks and Recreation teams that work so hard to pull off multiple events throughout the summer. This is no easy task and takes months and months of coordination. From the Fourth of July, Balloon Festival, Run Elevated Half Marathon, and the dozens of smaller activities in between, these folks work tirelessly to provide fun family entertainment for our city. This year we added Yoga in the Park twice a week and have received extremely positive responses. Sandy Police expanded their Night Out Against Crime to include more activities and highlight all of the services the department provides. The newly-added Balloon Fest 5k around the Balloon Glow was also a big hit this year.

The fall is time for us to reflect back on the work done over the summer. We will be sending out a neighborhood survey to assess your satisfaction of Sandy’s events. This is your opportunity to provide us with feedback in order to improve. To sign up for the surveys go to and click on the Survey Panel infographic under the “Connect with Us” section on the home page.

Don’t forget you can connect with us to get more information by going to our City websites and and by accessing our social media channels Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube for daily updated information. Make sure to download the Sandy CityServe App in the app store to alert city staff on issues that need attention. You can also send me an email at

It’s an honor to serve you!

Mayor Kurt Bradburn
